Background Information: Wiki!

Personality:

CONFIDENCE + CHARISMA; Outwardly, at least, Kaeya is an incredibly confident person, decisive and strong-willed, he knows what he wants, how he wants it, and how he will obtain it. He's an absolute peacock of a man, willing to use this confidence and charm to claim the things he's after, to win people over and manipulate situations to his advantage. Kaeya is not an unkind man by design, but he absolutely believes that the ends justify the means, within reason, his methods can be unconventional, but so long as all the pieces fall into place, he's content. Given his charismatic disposition, Kaeya is quite popular with the people of Mondstadt, he has many friends and acquaintances, given how social he is. Kaeya is extremely extroverted, he enjoys spending time with others, and getting to know new people - he's also quite good with kids, and the elderly.

Much of this, however, is a carefully constructed front, a mask, a lie to cover the truths of his past, of himself. It's difficult to say how much of his confidence is natural and true, and how much of it is a simple projection, for in many ways he struggles with self-worth, and considers himself a sinner born of a cursed place, and little more than a pawn in struggles above his head. He does have his own moral code, however, considering himself an "antihero with an attitude," so in the end, he does try to do what he believes is right, even if his methods may be somewhat questionable.

LOYALTY AND LIES; Kaeya's loyalties are questionable. He was not born in Mondstadt, but instead in the cursed nation of Khaenri'ah, born to the Alberich clan, regents who took over for Khaenri'ah's king when Irmin's strength failed. When he was very young, Kaeya's father took him from his home and abandoned him at the Dawn Winery, leaving him with a mission to his homeland, calling him Khaenri'ah's last hope. Subsequently taken in by the Ragnvindr Clan, Kaeya was then raised in Mondstadt, where he lives to this day, keeping the secret of his origins locked away in his heart. One day, he will need to make a choice between Mondstadt and Khaenri'ah, between his biological family and his found family, and even he does not know where his true loyalty lies. He believes he has outrun his past, but it will catch up with him, in time.

For now, given how he cannot disclose the truth of his birth, lest he blow his cover as a sleeper agent, Kaeya learned to become a skilled liar quite young, and he has a gift for it. Untruths roll off his tongue as smooth as silk, he can lie as easily as he can breathe, he's quite sly and sharp, and an incredibly perceptive man. Despite having only one visible eye, Kaeya sees keenly through people and situations, he's very smart and calculating, and not above using people to suit his needs, to an extent.

LONELINESS: Despite his charming and clever demeanor, and his social butterfly status, Kaeya is in fact incredibly lonely. Given the nature of his past, he is unable to disclose anything even remotely personal to people, which means he must keep even his closest loved ones at arms' length. If approached about this, he will naturally deflect, but his lonely heart is easy enough to see if he's examined closely. He must keep many secrets, secrets he's held since he was a child, and when you cannot tell the truth of something so simple as where you were born, you can only grow so close with others.

This pain was only driven all the deeper the night Crepus Ragnvindr, the man who had taken him in, died violently while using a counterfeit vision. Wracked with guilt, Kaeya finally came clean about his past to Diluc, Crepus' son, and the person Kaeya was closest to, his sworn brother. Diluc saw this as a betrayal, and the two clashed verbally and physically, shattering their once idyllic relationship. Kaeya received his cryo vision that night, as well as the scar he hides beneath his eyepatch. Having now lost not only one, but two families, Kaeya takes care not to grow too close with others, lest he find himself shattered again; Diluc, thankfully, despite his fury, has kept Kaeya's secret.

RELATIONSHIPS; To say that Kaeya's relationships are complex would be an understatement. Given how complicated his past has made his life, it has affected every aspect of his personality, and how he relates with and bonds to other people. Master Crepus and Diluc were as family to him, and Kaeya loves them with his whole heart, even still, despite how his relationship with Diluc had shattered. The two bicker almost constantly, but it is not so easy to break a bond so strong as the one that they had developed, and they are still quite loyal to one another. Paimon once remarks that it's difficult to tell whether they absolutely hate each other, or are extremely close.

Kaeya's relationship to his father and blood family is also strained and complex. While a part of him remains loyal to Khaenri'ah and the burden of being its last hope, a part of him also resents his father for abandoning him so young, and for saddling him with such a terrible responsibility. He never asked to be his nation's final hope, he never asked to be left alone in foreign territory, forced to bear the weight of endless lies.

All others Kaeya keeps at arms' length, though he does forge lasting relationships. He's quite fond of Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, his direct superior. She trusts him, and he looks out for her, going out of his way to organize a surprise party in her honor. Kaeya is also fond of the young knight Klee, as well as Sister Rosaria, who is his close friend and drinking buddy. Of course, none of these people know the truth of his past, and if Kaeya has it his way, they never will.

Abilities & Inventory: Some information can be found here, but to sum it up, Kaeya is able to manipulate the element of ice, and he is handy with a sword. Not only is he capable of using his icy power in combat, he can use it in everyday life as well, able to produce ice in any shape he prefers, from a wall, to an icicle, to a delicate snowflake. He won't be able to go full Elsa and build something like an ice palace, but this ability is nevertheless quite versatile. As for his inventory, Kaeya will come only with his clothing, vision, and sword.

Suitability & Plans: Mostly, of course, I very much want to play in this game with my friends, and Kaeya is a very strong character, for me!!

Of course, it helps that he'll settle in very easily. Kaeya is incredibly laid back, he'll take this new life in stride without issue, and while he'll enjoy having canonmates, he certainly doesn't rely on them. He makes friends quite easily thanks to his natural charisma. I'd really love to get him some new CR with others, and ideally, to work through a lot of his trauma and issues with loneliness and self-worth, learning to be free to be himself, completely.
